1. Make up a list of things to do at the beginning of your day.
2. You may not add to this list throughout the day for the purpose of gaining extra points, so be thorough.
3. Your list can include habits you want to break (i.e. things you would like to stop doing)
4. The day starts when you wake up. It ends when you go to sleep. You are absolutely forbidden from being productive while you sleep.
5. Each thing on your list that you complete is worth a certain amount of XP. If you complete everything on your list, give yourself two bonus points.
6. XP can be traded for LP on an increasing scale. LP for the first level, Pond Scum, can be bought for 10 XP. LP for the subsequent levels will increase in price by 5 XP each level.
7. If you get 10 LP, you can level up to become a Human Bean. I will make up titles for the other levels as they are needed.
Types of Goals:
Goals can be classified as tiny, medium, or large, according to the amount of time they take to complete.
Tiny goals are goals that take less than 30 minutes to complete. They are worth .5 XP
Medium goals are goals that take 30 minutes to an hour to complete. They are worth 1 XP
Large goals are goals that take more than an hour to complete. They are worth 2 XP
Goals can also be classified by type.
Creative: Goals that allow you to create something.
Exercise: Goals that build your body.
Adventure: Goals that encourage you to do something new and interesting.
Social: Goals that further your social life and encourage the development of social skills.
Behavior: Goals that help you stop unwanted behaviors.
Learning: Goals that encourage you to learn something new.
If I need to add anything to this list, let me know.

One thing: because of my work schedule i do a LOT after midnight so they still need (please) to count somehow. I have been making my lists the day before so can things after midnight count for the next day? you can word it however you want but I am most productive between 11 pm and 3 am due to my work schedule. .
ReplyDeleteI changed it. Is that better? :)
ReplyDeletelol thanks. i didnt mean to be fussy sorry
ReplyDeleteOne idea: What if you add XP bonuses for "achievements" related to the game? Like bonus XP for completing all of your daily goals every day for a week, or a month? This could add an added incentive to stick with a tough day's goals, so as not to lose the built-up momentum.
ReplyDeleteOr achieving a certain amount (like 15 or 20) of goals in one day? (If you do this, you may want to do some quality approval for achievements to make sure they aren't just trivial things to further stats.)
Ooh! That sounds like fun. I'm going to add a list of achievements to get.
ReplyDeleteHow long have different sizes of goals been worth different numbers of XP? I may need to update how many points I've been giving myself...one mathematical statistics homework set can take up to four hours...
ReplyDeleteThat's a recent development. I guess I kind of forgot to tell people. I shall remedy that immediately.
